Oceans of Possibilities: Summer Reading with Hampton Community Library
Jump into our Oceans of Possibilities this summer! Join our “school” of readers and travel the ocean blue! Welcome to Oceans of Possibilities, Hampton Community Library’s Summer Reading Program. Whether you are traveling, sailing, swimming, or chilling at home, we have something for everyone. Just imagine the possibilities!
Summer programs are from June 1 to August 15, 2022.
All ages are encouraged to participate.
The HCL Summer Reading Program
Children & youth ages birth-18 are invited to register for the in-person program at the library starting June 1, 2022. Take home your swag bag & start reading to earn raffle tickets. Return each week for raffle tickets for a chance to win one of our awesome prizes!
Adults can participate in the summer reading challenge too. Read books, get raffle tickets, win prizes---it’s that simple! Register at the library starting June 1, 2022.
Register for the virtual program with Beanstack. Participate in activity challenges, update your reading log, earn tickets for the Grand Prize Raffle. Both the in-person and virtual programs are for all ages: birth to adult. Sign up today!

How to Register for the HCL Summer Reading Program
Summer Reading Program Registration opens June 1. Please click the graphic to the left to register for the Summer Reading Program. You will be taken to the Beanstack webpage. To register:
Join the Hampton Community Library for a reading adventure! What will you discover?
* For the question that asks, "Which library do you visit most often?" please select "Hampton Community Library."
* Families & caregivers should elect a responsible adult to register as the “Account Creator,” then add children or other family members as "Readers" to be linked from that main account.
*Users can only register with one library at a time

Little Minnows Storytime!
Tuesdays, Starting June 14th through August 16th @ 10:00 a.m.
Join us as we “swish” our way through the summer with stories, songs, and rhymes. The program will be geared for ages 3 and under but older sharks are invited to attend!
Little Guppies Storytime!
Thursdays, Starting June 16th through August 18th @ 10:00 a.m.
Join us as we swim, dive, and squeal our way through the summer with stories, songs and rhymes. The program will be geared for ages 3-6 though younger fishes are invited to attend!
Under the Sea! A Story and Play hour!
Tuesdays Starting June 21st through August 9th. @ 11:00 a.m.
Thursdays, Starting June 23rd through August 11th @ 11:00 a.m.
Calling all preschoolers! Get ready to “swish” your fins with this interactive storytime, filled with stories, songs, music and maybe even parachutes! Rain or shine, we will meet outdoors at the Rotary Pavilion (this is the pavilion closest to the police station/municipal building/soccer fields). Registration not necessary, the storytime is designed for 3 -5 years, but all are welcome! Program will run approximately ½ hour to 45 minutes. Please note: this will be same program each day.
Sail Away on the Ocean Blue!
Tuesdays starting June 28th through August 9th @ 1:00 p.m.
Thursdays starting June 30th through August 11th @ 1:00 p.m.
Come sail the Ocean Blue with us! Who knows where you will land! Young Adventurers will hear a short story or chapter from the country we landed upon. Activities, games and crafts will be incorporated as well! Stowaways (younger siblings) are welcome to attend as long as the Captain (parent/caregiver) is there to help with crafts, etc.

Wednesdays, June 15th through July 27th @ 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Join us for a fun, instructive, interactive play. Whether you are a beginner or have been playing for years…there’s always something new to learn! All skill levels welcomed!
Please register when you come to play. Ages 5-12.
Anything’s Possible!
Fridays, June 17th through August 12th – All day.
Come explore your world through our STEAM kits! Each week there will be something new; magnets, friendship bracelets, button making, robots, the possibilities are endless! Stop in anytime of the day and discover! Activities are designed for 6 years old and up.
Card Club!
Wednesdays, June 1st through August 17th @ 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Join us Wednesday afternoons for a game of 500 Bid or something new! Come out and show your skill, teach someone a new game or just enjoy some time out with friends new and old!
Murder by the Book! A Mystery Book Discussion Wednesdays, 6:30 p.m.
The Mystery Book Group meets inside the library. Books will no longer be available at the circulation desk. Please call the library to request a copy of the book. Everyone who is interested in great reads is invited to join us!

Cooks-n-Books Potluck Picnic!
Thursday, June 23rd at 6:30 p.m.
We have spent a year baking, sautéing, burning, and tasting some yummy recipes! Now it’s time to create your own favorite dish and bring it to share! Get together with old friends or come out and make new ones! The picnic will be held outside at the Rotary Pavilion at Hampton Community Park (this is the pavilion closest to the police station/municipal building/soccer fields).
