Now Hiring: Library Services Associate (Part-Time)
Are you friendly, dependable, and passionate about serving your community? Our library is seeking a self-starter to join our team as a Library Services Associate (LSA).
Library Services Associates are the heart of our library. In this role, you will help create a welcoming and positive experience for every patron who walks through our doors.
What You’ll Do:

Assist patrons with checking out and returning library materials
-
Help locate books, resources, and information
-
Provide basic technology assistance
-
Share general information about library services and programs
-
Shelve and process library materials
-
Assist with program preparation and support
-
Perform light library maintenance and other duties as assigned
You’ll work both at the public service desk and behind the scenes to help keep our library running smoothly.
What We’re Looking For:

A friendly, approachable personality

Strong customer service skills
-
Comfort assisting patrons with basic technology questions

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Position Details:
-
Part-time: 10–15 hours per week
-
Schedule: Flexible availability required, including daytime, evening, and weekend hours

Pay Rate: $12.00 per hour
Requirements:
Upon offer of employment, the following clearances are required:

Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance

Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check
-
FBI fingerprint-based background check

Volunteer Opportunities
High School Community Service: We are now accepting applications from high school students to volunteer at the library to help with the Summer Reading Program! A commitment of 2 hours a week for 8 weeks is required (though time may be missed for family vacations). Summer Reading Program Volunteers may be asked to:

Register children for the Summer Reading Program

Shelve items
-
Straighten Shelves
-
Help with preparing various library events/activities
All volunteers are expected to understand that volunteering time is not a time to hang out with friends or be on your phone. HCL greatly appreciates all the time our summer volunteers donate to help make our Summer Reading Program a success!
