ABC Storytime: Letter A

Hello lovelies,

Will you sing an alphabet song with me?

And now, it's time for the Letter of the Day:

(tune is the Farmer and the Dell)

The letter of the day,

The letter of the day,

Hip, hip, hip-hooray,

Today is letter "A"!

Can you draw a big letter A in the air? Stand up, point your magic finger out in front of you. Now draw a long slant left, slant right & slide across the middle

*The complete Zaner-Bloser Handwriting Manual can be found here.

A says "ay"

And A says "ah"

Every letter makes a sound

A says "ay" and "ah"

Can you think of words that start with the letter A?

Ms. Suzy is going to read a wonderful story to us today called I Saw and Ant on the Railroad Track by Joshua Prince. Before we listen, follow along with this silly rhyme to get our wiggles out:

Up down turn around touch the sky and touch the ground,

Wiggle your fingers and tap your toes,

Clap your hands and beep your nose.

Up down turn around touch the sky and sit back down,

Wave your arms now make them flap,

Fold your hands and put 'em in your lap.

Time to turn off the screen & go on an alphabet scavenger hunt. See how many things you can find that start with the letter A.

Toodleloo, Kangaroos!
